SUGGESTIONS RE. FLIGHTS, RENTAL CARS, RIDE-SHARING & SHUTTLES:
Most flights will require you to go through the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). From there, you may choose to:
1. Rent a car* and take Hwy 5 east out of MSP toward Hwy 55/52 south. Follow Hwy 52 south all the way to Decorah, located at the intersection of Hwys 52 and 9. About 2.5 hrs total.
2. Fly in to the Rochester, MN (RST) airport, rent a car* at RST and drive 73 miles (1.5 hours) to Decorah via Hwys 63/52 OR catch an airport shuttle to the Rochester Microtel Inn & Suites at 4210 Hwy 52 North, where SSE shuttles will be picking up meeting participants per prior reservation.
3. Fly in to the La Crosse, WI (LSE) airport, rent a car* at LSE and drive 63 miles (1.3 hours) to Decorah via Hwys I-90, 16/14, 44, 52 OR catch an SSE shuttle picking up guests at the airport going to Decorah per prior reservation. 4. Fly in to MSP, then ride the Rochester Shuttle Service or Go Rochester Direct vans (both $27 one way, guaranteed space only by prior reservation) from MSP to the Rochester Microtel Inn & Suites at 4210 Hwy 52 North, where you may board SSE's connecting shuttle van (also per your prior reservation) to Decorah. *IMPORTANT NOTE: Decorah is a completely FREE PARKING community. Luther College also has completely FREE PARKING.
TRAIN:
An alternative to flying: Take Amtrak to the La Crosse, WI, station where you may catch SSE's airport shuttle van (per your prior reservation) to Decorah. The rate for the shuttle is yet to be determined, but will likely be about $20. Further info on reserving a shuttle is forthcoming.
