Helen Fowler Library: Using Your Online Catalog Account

PLACING A HOLD

Your library account allows you to place holds on available items in our collections.

To place an item on hold, first visit our online catalog and click "My Account" to sign in. Your User ID is the same as your Gardens membership number, with no spaces. Your membership number can be found by using the Denver Botanic Gardens mobile app (after signing in with your Gardens account) or by emailing the Library.

  1. Search for the item you would like to place on hold.
  2. Click on the title.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the item's record, where you will see information about available copies. 
  4. Click the green arrow in the upper left corner to place the item on hold.


     

  5. Select a cancel date for your hold request (if it is not fulfilled by the selected date, then it will be automatically canceled).
  6. Select "Delivery: Hold at library for pick up" - Note that inter-office mail is for STAFF only.
  7. Click "Hold" to finish!

You will then be sent an automated email concerning the details of your hold request. Librarians will also be notified and will contact you again once your hold is ready.


You can also view or cancel your holds anytime.

Selecting "My Holds" under the My Account menu will bring you to a page of pending holds. If you would like to cancel, select the item and click "Delete". The library will be automatically notified of your cancellation.

RENEWING A BOOK

Your library account allows you to renew eligible materials online.

First, visit our online catalog and click "My Account" to sign in. Your User ID is the same as your Gardens membership number, with no spaces. Your membership number can be found by using the Denver Botanic Gardens mobile app (after signing in with your Gardens account) or by emailing the Library.

  1. Under My Account, click "My Checkouts"
  2. Select the items you would like to renew, and click "Renew"

If the item is eligible for renewal - that is, if no one else is waiting for it and you haven't yet reached your renewal limit - you will receive an immediate confirmation that the item was renewed.

CREATING AND SAVING BOOK LISTS

Your library account allows you to curate and save your own book lists.

First, visit our online catalog and click "My Account" to sign in. Your User ID is the same as your Gardens membership number, with no spaces. Your membership number can be found by using the Denver Botanic Gardens mobile app (after signing in with your Gardens account) or by emailing the Library.

Next, search our online catalog for a title that you would like to save.

From the list of your results, check the box next to the titles you would like to save, then click the Save icon.



A box will pop-up called "Save Title List" and give you some options:

  • Click "Create New List" to add your selected title(s) to a new list. You can then give your list a title and add a description before saving.
  • Click "Add to Existing List" to add your selected title(s) to an existing list. Make sure to click Save!
  • Click "Delete from Existing List" to remove the title from an existing list. Make sure to click Save!
  • Click "Replace Existing List" to remove all items from an existing list and replace them with your currently-selected titles.

To view your existing lists, make sure you are signed into your account. Then, under "My Account" click on "My Titles" - here you will see all the lists you have created. You can edit the list title or description by clicking the paper and pencil icon next to the list name.
