Downloading an ebook to a Kindle Fire

Before downloading an ebook to your Kindle Fire, please be sure you have completed the following steps:

  • Download the Bluefire Reader app to your Kindle Fire.
  • Go to Settings>Applications and then turn On the option that says “Apps from Unknown Sources”. (Settings can be found by swiping downwards from the home page and clicking the gear, or through the Apps tab at the top of the page.)
     
  • Open the Silk browser. Go to http://www.bluefirereader.com/blog/?p=158. Follow the instructions to download and install the app.

  1. In the Silk browser, navigate to the ebook collection on the MCC Library catalog.
     
  2. Once you have selected the item you would like to download, click on the ebrary link in the Holdings tab in the catalog record. 
     


     
  3. You will be taken to the ebrary log-in page. Log-in using your MCC email address or address you use to receive notifications from Mt. Cuba Center.
     
  4. The book information page will open. Click the   button.

     
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen:
     
    1. Choose Android device


       
    2. On the next screen, click the button that says .


       
    3. On the next screen, click on the   button.



       
    4. The book will automatically download to Bluefire Reader for you to read now or later.

 

The book will automatically be returned to the ebrary library at the end of the check-out period (generally 7 or 14 days, depending on the publisher)

If you want to return it earlier, you can click the the blue arrow symbol next to the title in your library list and then click the button that says Return.
